I hate people

Tue Oct 25, 2005, 2:10 AM
Okay, I really hate people now.

Why can't people just respect the idea of religion even if they don't like it? Why do they have to ridicule it? Why do they have to make fun of things they don't understand?

I'm not a Christian, I don't respect the New Testament as scripture, as the unyielding word of God. I'm not Jewish, I don't believe the Torah is the word of God, no questions asked. But I do believe that they are the best accounts of our history that we have. Else, I don't think our race would have fought so hard to protect them. The Jews used to fight fucking wars to protect that book. Why can't people just respect that as something important? Why can't they question the beliefs? Why do they have to go and ridicule all who believe in a God by calling him a pervert? Why is that? Why can't people just shut they're fucking mouths when they think these things?

Why do people feel the need to re disrespect Islam, and Hinduism and Buddhism? Why do they feel the need? I don't understand. And it hurts. Being a spiritual person, and seeing all these people not only throw /they're/ spirituality away, but attempting to destroy someone else's? What the Hell is wrong with people?

...I've got to stop.

I feel the same way. Surrounded by hypocrits and ignorant assholes. What's worse is when you get into a classroom where everyone has the same religion and knows nothing of other religions except their own. Conversation with people who haven't bothered to educate themselves about topics they choose to bash is fighting a loosing battle. Stupidity wins, knowledge prevails and rises above them all. So all I can say to this is, I understand where you're coming from, and most people are insensitive jerks. I guess it would be your job to inform them of the truth instead of letting them get away with slander. Best of luck among the masses.
:iconskinshifter:
Yeah. And it's real fun when they're only reply, the defense for their stance is, "yes, huh."

Fucking pisses me off.

Personally, I don't believe it is the religion that is beautiful, but faith. Religion is what does cause wars and hatred and disagreements. Faith is something entirely different. It makes people better. Well, I see them as two separate things. Others can argue differently. It's great to believe in a religion, I suppose, until it gets to the point that it tries to prevent other people from having the same freedom. If someone's going to be a strongly devoted Christian, or whatever, why not let someone else be a strongly commited Jew or Buddhist? It's not affecting them, really. I don't know, truthfully. People need to wake up or something.

You're right, but I disagree with how you put it. Faith is beautiful. But so is religion. It's when religion becomes political that you have a problem. Or when religions feel the need to convert. That's a problem. But, fundamentally, you're right.

In siuations like that I try and remember what some french philosopher guy said "I detest what you are saying but I will defend to the death your right to say it". I think if people have the right to believe in something like God or Allah or whatever then other people have the right to critisise and/or ridicule. I have no problem with people being religious but I have a problem when they try and force it on other people (which does happen quite alot even if it is subtle) or if they use it as an excuse for things such as wars and stuff like that. Take a contemporary issue for example; extreme muslim terrorists. I would like to say here that I'm not saying that all terrorists are muslim or that all muslims are terrorists. Suicide bombers who say they are blowing themselves up and taking other peoples lives because it is Allah's will and are therefore using their religion as a scape-goat. All evidence that I have heard says that no-where in the Muslim holy book (can't spell what it's called) condones killing etc and yet it is still being used by religious extremists as an excuse.
I dont believe in anything religion based, faith based etc. I don't think there is anything after death and I think the universe created it's self and was not created by some higher being.

p.s you are a hypocrit. Give your signature a quick read and you'll see that it says that organised religion is brainwashing for the soul. Surely this is the sot of thing that you think people should "shut their fucking mouths" about.

:peace:
:iconskinshifter:
Hehe Not a hypocrite. Because I agree with you. Completely. I loathe organized religion because 90% of it is an excuse to do whatever the Hell people want. And other things of that nature.

I just get really upset when people ridicule one another. I don't care what your beliefs are, don't make fun of mine or other people's.

As soon as an entity returns from a spiritual experience and converts it into words
the meaning is lost and it becomes just another fragment; a piece of the puzzle.
It becomes vulnerable like an open wound for other elements in this realm to infect.

Do not worry about the collective persona this world has to offer...
You will only ever find misery in this. All you need to do is focus. Breath.
Remember the light and continue with what you are here to do. Balance will come.
It is not your duty to 'save the world.'
Earth will eventually sort itself out.

Can't argue any of that--just like to complain about it from time to time.

It's important to get things like this off your chest.
It's unhealthy for all aspects of your being to 'bottle-up' anything.
